The brief set by the client was to convert a redundant barn to provide a single holiday unit. The site is adjacent to the client’s existing established holiday complex. A previous scheme was refused planning permission and dismissed at appeal, for new build holiday units, on the adjacent land. One of the fundamental issues was highway safety, due to the intensified use of the site. Dieter Nelson Planning Consultancy Ltd was able to negotiate with the Highway Authority to facilitate an engineering design solution to fully address the highway safety issues. The scheme was approved planning permission by the District Council
